In 2021, Brandon Armstrong notched his 10th year with Lone Star Chemical. He began his career in the plastics industry when he joined this firm, and has since refined his skills not just in sales but in account management, product management, and negotiation.

“When I started with Lone Star Chemical in 2011, I knew very little about the plastic industry,” Brandon said recently. “But I had the opportunity to work side by side with the founder, Mike McAlister, as well as with our president, Kip McAlister, and our Vice President of purchasing and marketing, Matt Marshall. Mike, Kip, and Matt taught me a lot of the ‘ins and outs’ of our industry. The most important lessons they taught me were on relationships and the value of our word. Our business has been built on relationships since 1974. The values that Mike started this company with still hold true today. I am thankful to be a part of Lone Star Chemical.”

Brandon has also been instrumental in the formation of Lone Star’s sister business, Bio Based Polymers.

“In 2019 we at Lone Star Chemical recognized a growing need for eco-friendly products,” Brandon added. “In working with Kip, I helped to grow Bio Based Polymers, particularly by developing supplier relationships.”

Brandon and his wife Kylee have two children. In his spare time Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, as well as traveling, hunting, golfing, and watching their kids compete in their sports activities.
